Can I use my normal yamaha e403 keyboard like a midi keyboard? Will it serve the midi purpose perfectly?

I just bought a e403 yamaha keyboard which is amazing! the problem is, now i realize that i need a midi keyboard to record the sounds. actually, i am a dj and compose music which i sell at school.

i need to know: will my normal keyboard serve the purpose of a midi keyboard controller perfectly? or do i need to purchase a seperate midi keyboard?
i did try it out, and it does work.
but i am not sure if it works as good as it would with a midi keyboard.
