  2. You can use 8 at 1 time onboard but if you use cakewalk you can use 16.

  4. Please friend, answer this question to me, ¿How many different instruments can be recorded to do a song with the YAMAHA PSR S500 6, 8 or 9?

    Thank you.

  16. No the PSR-S500 can only be conected by computer as in USB and you can use cakewalk Sonar.

  22. Thanks for the reply. Why did you apologize you didn’t do anything lol.

I bought it directly from Yamaha. I guess when it comes I’ll experiment with it first before deciding if I should return it. Thanks again!

  24. I dont think you wasted money you just have to get the cakewalk program.

Where did you buy it at because if you got it at Guitar Center or Sam Ash you can return it
in 30 days .The sound on that keyboard are great quality but you have to remember it is still a home keyboard so it will not have all of the pro workstation features.the next step up is the PSR-S900 & it has Loop Features
    in the style creator.

    Sorry for the inconveance.

  26. Oh man. I just blew a huge sum of money on this thing; please tell me it’s worth it. I guess I can always use software to generate the beats beforehand but it’s still a waste of the drum kits provided since the software’s soundfonts are different…

  28. The PSR-S500 does not have a loop feature
i always hook up all of my PSR keyboards to
Cakewalk and do all of my tracks on cakewalk
because its easyer .But i understand it is too tireing to do the same beat all of the time.

  30. Hey may I ask, for the recording of drums feature, does S500 have a looping function? And can you edit the score, say, after 3 bars of the same beats the 4th bar it automatically uses another rhythm which you stored? I have a feeling it doesn’t, and it sucks because my rhythm is very bad and I don’t think I can sustain playing the same beats for 300 bars non-stop.

  32. The 8 Track sequencer on the PSR-S500 is a regular sequencer but if you use a midi file the keyboard will play up to 16 tracks. If you did a song with the on board 8 track you can convert it to midi using only 8 tracks but the only way you can get 16 tracks is if you use a computer sequencing software.

  33. AlexPddu on Fri, 10th Oct 2008 11:45 am
  34. First of all, thank you for answer|

But for example if i load a 16 tracks midi.. how it will be in psr-s500? Will lost some track?

    Ciao :)

  35. KMNKeybordValt on Fri, 10th Oct 2008 11:45 am
  36. In the PSR-S500 Is only 8Tracks of sequencing but when hooked up to a computer & using a midi sequencing program it is 16 tracks.

Midi Files are good as in tracks on the run som times they sound like the original and somtimes it sounds like somebody try to make it up but if you know the song well and have your own format you can compose it with Cakewalk Sonar & the limit is endless.

  38. Hi… i’d like to know one thing.. is midi player quality good?
I have a lot of MIDI with more then 8 tracks… how PSR-S500 will play?

    Thanks and ciao :)
