Yamaha’s keyboard/ digital piano (compare to Casio)?

I have been playing acoustic piano for over 5 years and I'm interested in buying a keyboard… ($ and performance are both my considerations)

(1) Is 76-key enough?
(2) What should I look for in Yamaha and Casio? (in terms of $ and performance)
(3) What is the difference between the Yamaha YPG and DGX series? They all have 3 models – with 76 keys, 88 keys, and 88 weighted keys…
(4) What about Yamaha P70 and Casio WK110?

Thank you very much for your help!!!
thanks John!

my budget is around 0, definitely no more than 0

  2. Hi, I am looking for a digital piano too. Price is the first issue. 500, 700, 1000, are all, more or less price points. You can't go farther until you know your price point (if any). Casio has 2 new models model120–$500, and model320–$700, which are improvements over 110, 310.
Yamaha has p85–$700, an improvement over p70, but more money

To all of them I prefer the Yamaha p140, but it is 1000.So, I am leaning toward the Casio 320, because it hooks up with the computer via USB. I suggest 88 keys, with a piano action. All the ones I mentioned have that, but the p140 has the most piano-like action of all.

Another good brand is Kawai, but it isn't as readily available. The less expensive model is the M5 for 1100, and has a very good action too.

Tell me what you're thinking...
